Local Security Leadership. Regional Queensland Capability.
Regional Queensland Security Services combines strong local Cairns knowledge and operational leadership with experienced business, investigation, compliance and regional service capability.
A security business built specifically for Regional Queensland.
Regional Queensland Security Services was established to provide professional, reliable and properly managed security services outside the major metropolitan centres.
The business is built around a simple principle: regional clients deserve security providers who understand regional operations, regional workforces and the practical realities of delivering services across large distances.
Cairns and Far North Queensland are a major operational focus for RQSS, with the business structured to combine genuine local leadership with broader regional capability.
Local leadership backed by established capability.
RQSS is not intended to be managed remotely from South East Queensland. Local knowledge, relationships and day-to-day operational leadership are central to the way the Cairns operation is being developed.
At the same time, RQSS benefits from established business systems, governance and regional operational experience.
Local operational leadership supported by experienced ownership.
RQSS has been structured so the people closest to the local market can drive the operation while the business retains strong governance, compliance and professional oversight.
Cayla Huhta
Operations Manager
Cayla is a born and bred Cairns local and brings strong local knowledge, security-sector experience and an understanding of the Far North Queensland operating environment.
Her local networks and familiarity with the Cairns security market are central to RQSS’s approach to building genuine operational capability in the region.
Cayla is the primary local face of RQSS in Cairns, working directly with clients, personnel and the local market as the operation develops.
Jason King
Owner / Director

His background includes law enforcement, government compliance, corporate investigations and legal training, together with extensive experience delivering professional services across regional, rural and remote Queensland.
Jason’s role in RQSS is primarily ownership, governance, licensing, compliance and strategic oversight, allowing the Cairns operation to be driven locally.
RQSS is intended to be genuinely local in Cairns.
Cayla Huhta is central to the development of the RQSS operation in Cairns and Far North Queensland.
She is Cairns-based, has experience within the investigation and security sector, understands the local market and has built networks within the broader North Queensland business community.
Cayla’s role is not simply administrative. She is involved in developing client relationships, identifying and supporting suitable personnel, understanding local operational requirements and helping shape the day-to-day RQSS presence in Far North Queensland.
This gives RQSS something we consider particularly important: a local person with genuine responsibility for the local operation.

Jason King — regional experience, governance and professional oversight.
Jason has spent his career working in environments where evidence, accountability, lawful decision-making and professional standards matter.
His professional background spans law enforcement, government compliance, corporate and workplace investigations and legal practice and education. He holds postgraduate legal qualifications and has extensive experience undertaking complex investigations for councils, government-related organisations, businesses and community-sector clients.
Through Regional Queensland Investigations, Jason has developed a business model centred on servicing clients throughout regional, rural and remote Queensland rather than concentrating exclusively on metropolitan markets.
RQSS extends that regional philosophy into security services while allowing local operational leadership to remain where it belongs — on the ground in Cairns.
Local decision-making with professional business support behind it.
